QR codes: scan to pay, never to receive

Scanning a QR code is for paying money. You never scan to receive money.
Scammers send a QR code and say "scan to receive your payment or refund". If you scan and enter your PIN, your money goes to them.
Before paying in a shop or at parking, check that the name shown in the app is the right one.

Example from the test

"Hello, I want to buy your sofa from OLX. I am sending you a QR code. Scan it and enter your UPI PIN to receive ₹12,000."

Answer: Scam. You never scan a QR code or enter a PIN to receive money. Doing it sends ₹12,000 to the scammer.

Answer: Scam. A sticker on top can lead to a fake payment page. Pay in the official parking app, or check the name before paying.
