Codes that steal your WhatsApp

A message says "I sent you a code by mistake, please send it to me". That code is the key to your WhatsApp.
If you send it, the thief takes your WhatsApp and asks your friends for money in your name.
Turn on two-step verification: WhatsApp → Settings → Account → Two-step verification.

Example from the test

At the same moment an SMS with a WhatsApp code arrives on your phone.

"Hi dear, I sent you a 6-digit code by mistake. Please send it to me quickly."

Answer: Scam. Her account is probably already stolen. If you send the code, the thief takes your WhatsApp too.
