Scary calls are a trick

Scammers pretend to be police, CBI, customs or bank officers and make you afraid.
There is no "digital arrest". Real police never arrest anyone on a video call and never ask for money.
A message from a "new number" saying it is your son or daughter and needs money is a common trick. Call their old number first.
If someone says "don't tell your family", it is surely a scam.

RememberScared? Hang up. Call family.

Example from the test

"Your Aadhaar was used in a drug parcel. You are under digital arrest. Do not cut the call and do not tell your family. Pay ₹1,00,000 to clear your name."

Answer: Scam. There is no digital arrest. Police never ask for money on a call. Hang up and tell your family.

Your daughter calls from her usual number, saved in your phone.

"Mummy, I reached the hostel safely. I will call you again at night."

Answer: Safe. It is a known, saved number and nobody asks for money or an OTP. This is a normal call.
